🧶 Beginner Knitting Series at Clover Brooke Farm

Always wanted to knit? Let’s make a hat! In this hands-on, three-class series, you’ll go from casting on your first stitches to knitting a rolled-brim hat with our alpaca-blend yarn. Your instructor is a pattern designer with more than 30 years of knitting instruction experience. She’ll guide you through each step, even when a stitch makes a break for it.

🦙 Meet the Alpacas Behind Your Yarn

You’ll get to meet the Clover Brooke Farm alpacas whose fleece goes into your yarn. Say hello to the crew that grew part of your hat. They’ve already done their part, and now it’s your turn! 😉

🪡 What You’ll Do

  • Cast on and get comfortable with the basic knit stitch.

  • Use your measurements and stitch gauge to design a simple hat pattern that fits.

  • Learn to knit in the round on circular needles.

  • Shape the top of your hat and weave in the ends.

🎨 What’s Included

Your registration covers all three classes and a take-home knitting kit with:

  • One skein of Clover Brooke Farm alpaca-blend yarn in your choice of natural undyed shades, dyed solids, or multicolored variegated yarns

  • Circular knitting needles

  • Knitting notions

  • A project bag to keep everything together between classes

Picking your yarn might be the hardest part!

📅 Class Dates

January 9, February 6, and March 6, 2027. Each class is 90 minutes, and the sessions build on one another as your hat takes shape.

🙋 Who Can Join

Absolute beginners are welcome! Come on your own, bring a friend, or join us for a refresher if your needles have been gathering dust.

👜 What to Bring

Just yourself for the first class. Bring your kit and hat-in-progress to the next two sessions.

❄️ Why Start With a Hat?

A rolled-brim hat gives you plenty of practice with the basic knit stitch before you learn the simple decreases that shape the top. You’ll also learn how to adjust the pattern for another size. Fair warning. Someone will ask you to knit them one.

Reserve your spot, meet the alpacas, and get ready to say, “I made this!” 🧶
