Learn how to home brew beer at Clover Brooke Farm!
Spend the afternoon with our very own farmer, Dr. Mike Tibbetts, the co-owner of Clover Brooke Farm and Hyde Park Hops with Andrea Parent-Tibbetts. He is also a College Professor/Yeast Geneticist at a liberal arts college in The Hudson Valley for over 25 yes. He’s a Home Brewer who appreciates good beer, and understands the biochemistry of fermentation. His brewing experience spans over a decade in the brewing of beer, mead and cider. His style is casual but informative and based on his 27 years of college teaching, he welcomes curious individuals in his Learn How to Home Brew class.

Why Do You Want to Brew Your Beer?
Farm breweries have existed for centuries, and how to home brew has become an art form. Creating your beer allows you to control the amount of spice, hops, and bitterness to perfect your desired beer flavor. We talk about this on our small farm brewery tour, where we show you the process (and the secret) to making fantastic beer.
We also break down how to home-brew your beer and explain why it is:
Fun
In our beer brewing class, we will explain how to home brew your beer and what makes the home brewing process so much fun. You can also experiment and try new flavors, hops, grains, and more when you choose how to home-brew your beer. You may want to add some spiced grains for a more profound home brew. There are so many possibilities! Brewing your own beer is a fun, step-by-step process with plenty of rewards for due diligence.
Great with Friends
The beer brewing experience is a fantastic thing to share with friends. Whether you are attending our Brew Beer Class as a group or hanging out in the backyard, creating a new brew with your friends is a thing of pride. It is something you, as a collective, started. It is a modern art masterpiece you will all manage to take a sip from and cheers to great memories.
Cost-Effective
While you will need to upgrade your equipment every so often, the money you can save by brewing your beer is fantastic. If it wasn’t obvious, brewing your beer saves you a trip to the store and reduces the cost of buying beer. We talk about this during our Home Brew Beer class, explaining the logistics of brewing and revealing our safeguarded secrets.
How Does it Work?
When you sign up for our Home Brew Beer class (which has limited space!), we supply you with the hands-on experience and knowledge to start crafting your beer. For almost three hours, your day will consist of brewing demonstrations and discussions on the biochemistry of brewing. You will observe the process and learn about the full spectrum of beers you would find at a craft brewery and the equipment needed to start your home brewing. There will be opportunities to taste the product at various stages and sample the end product. Your reward is three 12oz bottles of home-brew–to give you a taste of what you could make yourself.
