Clover Brooke Farm Adventure teaches the connection between agricultural practices and human health, instilling ‘hands on’ practices that is beneficial to the farmer, community and environment.

Love and Livestock
Who are your animal allies and natural teachers? If you could be any animal at the farm, which one would it be and why? What purpose do the animals serve at the farm?
Campers meet and learn about the many different species on the farm and how each of them play an important role in the farms ecosystem. We will focus on the varied livestock, the purpose they serve and how the farmer balances management and mindfulness. We will expand our thinking about the world to include animals and our relationships with them. We will spend time learning what our animals produce or purpose they serve (fiber, food, therapy, land management and/or companionship) and how we benefit from each. We will learn about nature-based mindfulness and how we integrate these practices into everyday life on the farm. Walks in the woods, hike with the animals and other nature activities . By the end of the week, Campers will have developed an understanding of the relationships farmers have with their animals and the careful balance of the farms ecosystem .

What roles does interdependency, biodiversity and regenerative farming play on a farms ecosystem?
Campers will learn about Human-Nature connections, deepening their understanding of the complex relationships between between farmer, landscape, animals and plants. Each day will focus on aspects of farm life, through curiosity, exploration and the importance of being a regenerative farmer.
Campers will learn about care and management of livestock, the benefits of livestock guardians, animal therapy, raising forage, managing grazing programs, soil interdependence, waterways and more. Campers will be assigned daily farm jobs, underscoring the importance of responsibility when raising livestock. By the end of the week, Campers will understand what roles they play on a farms ecosystems based on regenerative farming.

Farm to Table
What does it mean to eat seasonally and locally? What is the importance of healthy soil? How can I tell if soil is thriving, healthy, healing or hurt ? Why does it matter?
Campers learn about interdependence farmers have on healthy soil, how both humans and farm animals benefit. We will sample different seasonal foods that come from our farm. We will learn about the importance of composting and our friends the decomposers. We will discuss the connections between farming, culture, history, ecology and nature have on recipes. We will engage in Food Art creations, Cooking Demos while cultivating a positive, playful and artful relationship towards food.
