Patricia McKinney - Fiber Artist & Founder of Garden Gate Llamas
Patricia McKinney’s love of fiber art began with her first guard llama in 1998, inspiring a journey into creating with natural fibers. Over the years, her passion evolved, and today, her farm, Garden Gate Llamas in York, Pennsylvania, is home to nine silky llamas raised specifically for their luxurious fiber.

As an accomplished fiber artist, Patricia specializes in wet and needle felting, transforming natural fibers into wearable art and creative crafts. She combines llama fiber with silk, yarns, and other natural materials to design one-of-a-kind felted pieces, blending creativity with sustainability.

A retired high school teacher, Patricia continues to share her knowledge by teaching felting workshops for organizations and private groups. Her work celebrates the beauty of natural fibers, and she finds endless inspiration in pushing the boundaries of what llama fiber can create.
